Postr for Tumblr Postr Blog

This is the official blog for Postr, the best Tumblr companion for iPad. You can learn more about the app at postrapp.com or download it from the App Store.

Available on the App Store

Anonymous asked: Hello Tomaz! Bought Postr as my main Tumblr client on my new, shiny iPad Mini. But to make it a perfect experience I need an option, off by default, to switch "Repost with comment" to "silent Repost" because this is how I usually repost things fast and very often and having to deal with a full-screen form can get very annoying very quickly.

There’s a quick reblog option built right into Postr. Anywhere you see a reblog button, you can tap and hold it to reveal a quick reblog popover. I think this might be what you’re looking for.

Glad you like the app and thanks for downloading it. If you haven’t already, please rate it so others can find it.

iPad Mini Sale

Postr is 67% off for a limited time to celebrate the release of iPad mini. Grab it for only $0.99 on the App Store, before the price goes up.

Say Hello to Postr

We are extremely happy to introduce Postr, an enhanced version of TumbleBee. Our goal was to take the foundation we had from TumbleBee and turn it completely around. Postr might feel brand new on the outside, but in many ways it is also brand new inside. We listened to what you were asking for, therefore version 1.2 sports twelve major new and enhanced features.

Multiple Accounts
It doesn’t matter if you have one or more Tumblr accounts — Postr can work with all of them at once. You can easily add them in the settings area, and switch between them quickly.

Animated GIFs
This has been the most requested feature by far. Now, not only can you see animated GIFs instantly as you scroll, but you can also see them animating in full screen photo browser.

Music player
Postr loves music. We enhanced our audio player to be even better. When you encounter an audio post, you simply tap the album cover and it immediately starts playing. You can browse through Tumblr and it will keep playing. You can even quit the app and it will play audio post in the background.

Tag search
There is so much great content on Tumblr. With Postr you can search tags to find interesting new posts and blogs. And you can manage a list of favorite tags for each account to quickly access them later.

Reading list integration
Postr now enables you to add posts to your reading list. We’re really excited to have support for Instapaper, Pocket and Readability. You can configure them for every account you link with Postr. And you don’t have to pick a default one. With Postr you can use all of them at the same time.

Quick reblog
When you tap and hold any reblog button in the app, a window pops up that lets you quickly reblog a post. This is a feature our users love so much and we wanted to make it even better. Now, you can reblog to any of your blogs, even if they are on a different account than the currently active one.

Offline capabilities
From now on, Postr doesn’t die when you loose your Internet connection. It saves your recently browsed dashboard, liked posts and blog posts for reading offline. Even creating posts works without Internet connection.

Superb posting
Postr is the best posting app for Tumblr. You can create posts in no time, in plain HTML or Markdown. And when you’re done writing, you have some great settings to choose from, like tags and custom URLs. Postr is so smart it auto saves posts as you’re writing them and if you loose your Internet connection, it puts them in local drafts for later.

Full size photos
Enjoying full size photos is the best with Postr. You can swipe through photosets, like or reblog post, and even share if you find a photo you like. We also included a “swipe down“ gesture to quickly close the browser.

Post details
Postr presents Tumblr posts in an uncluttered way, but many users have asked us for tags and notes. Now you can just tap a post and Postr will present it individually with tags and latest notes.

Effortless sharing
Postr requires iOS 5, but it also works with the latest version of iOS 6. Now you can take advantage of the new sharing sheet that enables you to share your favorite posts and other content with friends on Twitter, Facebook and Sina Weibo, you can send an email or an iMessage.

Clean design
Postr’s design is built atop iOS 6 to bring you a familiar experience, but also an experience, that is easy to use and understand. We really designed it from scratch to be

Postr is a free update if you already purchased TumbleBee and it costs just $2.99 for new users. You can learn more about it at the official website or download it from the App Store.

TumbleBee 1.1.1 Update

This is a bug fix update which addresses the auto-tweet issue and some other minor interface and under the hood problems. You can update your app via App Store. Again, I’m really thankful to everyone who sent in the bugs. Please keep doing so if you find any new ones. Also, any suggestions are welcome.

TumbleBee 1.1 Available on The App Store

I’m happy to announce that a new version of TumbleBee has finally been released. This is a huge under-the-hood update that focuses on browsing through dashboard, liked posts and blogs. Scrolling is much faster and responsive, and older posts are loaded automatically. Photo posts now even can display full Tumblr photosets.

Here are some other features in 1.1:

  • Sharing is supported throughout the entire app. You can tap any photo, video or link and instantly shared it with friends or post it to one of your blogs.
  • The app now sports a simple audio player. When you scroll to an audio post, just tap the cover to play it.
  • TumbleBee supports quick reblogging. If you tap and hold the reblog button, you can quickly select a blog (and a status) to reblog to.
  • You can move to drafts, add to queue or publish directly through the settings button, without the hassle of editing the entire post.
  • The updated composing sheet shows a blog avatar and you can tap it to switch blogs. In settings, you can choose to schedule posts and configure post Twitter settings. If you are reblogging a post, you also get the option to post as text, link or quote.
  • Version 1.1 also fixes some known bugs, but I encourage you to report any new ones. Mail support is now available in the app settings.

Hopefully, you are already reading this with the updated app. If not, you can get the free update on the App Store.

TumbleBee 1.0.1 Update

This is just a bugfix update. You can now reblog posts without having to select a blog (it defaults to your primary blog). Also there was a bug in the interface, where you couldn’t load more liked posts. This has also now been fixed.

You can get the update free on the App Store. If you find any other issues, please report them via support@tumblebee.co.

Introducing TumbleBee

When you love and support a platform, you want to do everything in your power to make it successful. This is how I feel about Tumblr. Since joining, I’ve discovered a ton of great photos, links and quotes, I’ve been inspired by so many interesting people, and I am amazed by how many creatives still are out there. For the past year, I’ve been using Tumblr heavily on my iPad, but I dislike the web interface. I also haven’t found an app that would suit my needs and taste. Thus I decided to make my own.

I am pleased to announce that TumbleBee, my Tumblr client for the iPad just went live on the App Store. Aiming to be the best Tumblr experience, TumbleBee brings you some great features. You can enjoy your dashboard and liked posts in their whole, simply by scrolling up and down. Viewing is also extended to browsing blogs. You can spend hours navigation through the reblog stack and discover many new and exciting blogs to follow. And when you find something interesting, you can quickly reblog or like it with a single tap.

For creative ones, TumbleBee pays a special attention to posting. Creating text, link, quote, photo, chat, video and audio post takes almost no time, and you can write them in HTML or Markdown. There are also some publishing options to choose from, like post state, tags and custom URLs.

Have in mind, this is a 1.0 version. There may be some things you might miss, but I am really open to suggestions and requests. I want to make TumbleBee the best I can, therefore feel free to send me a tweet.
